::Untitled:: I keep waiting for numbness to set in
to stop feeling my heart ache,
to reach a lethargic state.

But then I see you again
and the pain returns.
A hot skewer through the heart.
Cardiac Arrest A cardiac smile.
Something lost along the way,
not quite reaching eyes.
Not quite showing teeth.
Not quite there.
And the arrest is unforgiving.
I'll Still Smile I think I die a little every time you say her name.
It’s another stab to the heart,
another pinch of salt on the wound.
But I’ll still smile,
hold back my tears,
and tell you how glad I am
that you are happy.
Untitled I miss your voice.

I miss the vibrations against my face when you talked,
when I would lay on your chest.

I remember it but for some reason I get the feeling it’s changed.

I know something has.
Tell Me When I ask you if I look okay,
if my hair looks good,
if my make up is all right,
if this dress makes me look fat...
All I want
is for you to hold
my face in your hands,
look me in the eyes,
tell me I’m beautiful,
and mean it.
